I handled publicity for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in early 2000 when the annual winter tour was in its infant stages. During this time, TSO was only playing Orpheum sized venues (3,000-6,00 seats) so it is hard to imagine their elaborate stage show now fitting into a small venue. It was amazing to see the Boston Garden filled to near capacity (19,600 seats) and every year I wonder how they will top last years show and every year they seem to do it. The show is no longer just an annual winter jaunt but has now launched into a spring/summer tour performing the groups “Beethoven’s Last Night” album in its entirety.

TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, the rock orchestra that brought symphonic-rock to the mainstream audiences, will begin its holiday tour on November 1, 2009. The group, which derived its name from the Trans-Siberian Railway, was founded in 1996 by New York native Paul O’Neill who produced albums for hard rock groups including AEROSMITH, SAVATAGE and the SCORPIONS.

Since then, it has grown into a thirty-piece orchestra featuring two narrators, fourteen singers and fourteen musicians with expertise in genres ranging from R&B to Broadway and classic Rock.
