Springsteen covered “Whip My Hair” and also performed “Because The Night” and “Save My Love”
When the news surfaced that Bruce Springsteen was going to perform with The Roots on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon many fans tried to guess what songs he’d perform — but it’s likely nobody predicted that he’d open with a cover of Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair.” Wearing a wig and fake beard so he’d look like himself circa 1975, Springsteen joined Fallon (dressed as Neil Young circa 1970) midway through a hilarious version of the song that culminated with “Born To Run”-style chants.

Ha! I jest, of course—though not about the Boss’ intention to run through an album on each night. In fact, Springsteen and crew will play Born to Run tomorrow, then Darkness on the Edge of Town (October 2), Born in the U.S.A. (October 3), Born to Run (October 8), and finally Born in the U.S.A. (October 9). These will be the last rock shows at Giants Stadium, which is set for the demolition at the end of the current football season.
