DJAMA month after DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldstein, was discovered dead in his New York City apartment, the medical examiner has ruled that the celebrity disc jockey died from an accidental overdose of cocaine and prescription drugs, the Associated Press reports.

Toxicology reports released Tuesday found a variety of drugs in the 36-year-old’s body, including cocaine, painkillers OxyContin and Vicodin, sedatives Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, the antihistamine Benadryl, and Levamisole, a cancer treatment drug also used to cut cocaine.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform an entire album at each of their five Giants Stadium shows, according to Rolling Stone. Tomorrow Springsteen is set to play Human Touch, followed by Lucky Town on October 2 and then…

Ha! I jest, of course—though not about the Boss’ intention to run through an album on each night. In fact, Springsteen and crew will play Born to Run tomorrow, then Darkness on the Edge of Town (October 2), Born in the U.S.A. (October 3), Born to Run (October 8), and finally Born in the U.S.A. (October 9). These will be the last rock shows at Giants Stadium, which is set for the demolition at the end of the current football season.

LivingColour

“It’s a bad time/ To be out of your mind,” singer Corey Glover cautions in “Out of Mind,” a brute-metal warning about staying sharp for battle on Living Colour’s most focused record since their 1988 debut, Vivid. To these black-rock fighters, apocalypse is colorblind. The greed and fallout in Vivid’s “Open Letter (To a Landlord)” still run deep in the enraged crunch of “DecaDance” and “Hard Times.” But “Bless Those (Little Annie’s Prayer)” is a hot ball of faith: Guitarist Vernon Reid slices across Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun’s porch-party strut with sacred-steel licks. Reid’s playing is a thrill throughout; his solos sound like a mind blown wide but never to pieces.

Aerosmith over? Dream on.

The globetrotting Boston bad boys are scheduled to be back in the saddle Oct. 18 and 20 in Maui, Hawaii, and on Nov. 1 at a Formula One race event in Abu Dhabi.

Last week, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry fueled speculation of a breakup after telling The Associated Press of his frustrations with singer Steven Tyler, who forced the band to cancel summer tour dates after injuring himself in a fall from the stage on Aug. 5 in Sturgis, S.D.

Yesterday Perry said that while it is true he and Tyler haven’t spoken in weeks, rumors of the band’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

“We’re getting our visas together and the papers drawn up and everything,” Perry said. “So as far as I’m concerned we’re doing these dates.”
